CLEEVE HILL ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE FROM SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL
Urgent message from Paul Tucker, Service Manager – Structures Economic & Community Infrastructure, Somerset County Council
This morning, just after midnight the high level alarms triggered the signs at Cleeve Hill illuminating the Road Closed signs.
From our initial findings it would appear that these triggers were caused by another act of vandalism, however we are having difficulty connecting to the site remotely to confirm this at present.
The road is currently closed and will remain closed until we can confirm that it is safe to reopen. Our specialist will continue to try to gain access to the system remotely today and if this is not possible he will attend site tomorrow and physically connect in and determine the issues and actions. If the cause is solely vandalism we will get the system reset and reopen the road but until we have access to the data we are unable to reopen the road.
I appreciate that it is the bank holiday weekend but if we can get the road reopened we will do so.
I will give you a further update as soon as I have one
